The Art of Wishing for More: Breaking Through Your Own Ceiling
There’s a strange kind of magic in achieving a dream. That moment of arrival—when you finally grasp the thing you once thought was out of reach—feels like the pinnacle, the peak, the mountaintop.
And for a while, it is.
You revel in it. You celebrate. You breathe it in, because it’s the best you’ve ever had in that particular category of life. Maybe it’s the healthiest relationship you’ve been in, the most money you’ve ever made, the biggest opportunity you’ve ever received. And because it’s the best so far, it’s easy to believe: THIS MUST BE IT!
But what if it isn’t?
What if this “best so far” is actually just another ceiling—not the final destination, but the foundation of your NEXT level?
What if there’s more—so much more—that you haven’t even let yourself dream of yet?
One of the hardest things about expansion is visioning beyond your lived experience. If you’ve only ever experienced struggle in relationships, a partner who’s kind and emotionally available might feel like the ultimate win. If you’ve only ever lived paycheck to paycheck, a consistent flow of income might feel like the definition of abundance. If you’ve only ever known work to be stressful, a job you enjoy might feel like the final stop.
But here’s the catch: Better is not the same as EVERYTHING YOU CAN DREAM.
Just because something is better than what came before doesn’t mean it’s the full expression of what you actually want. But it’s easy to get caught in the loop of thinking, If this is the best I’ve ever had, shouldn’t I be grateful? Shouldn’t I stop here?
I get it. I’ve been there. I’ve held onto relationships that were better than the last but still not truly aligned—because it felt selfish to wish for more. I’ve reached financial milestones and then stopped dreaming for a while—because what right did I have to want more than this?
But here’s what I’ve learned: The things that are “better” are not the things you’re meant to settle for.
They’re proof that you’re expanding. That you’re capable of having more. That the next level exists.
So how do you keep dreaming bigger when you’ve never seen what’s beyond your current ceiling?
How do you break through the belief that this is as good as it gets?
Start here: If nothing stood in your way—no fear, no limitation, no past conditioning—what would be the boldest, biggest, most breathtaking dream you could possibly dream?
Not the dream that’s better than what you had before.
Not the dream that’s good enough.
Not the dream that’s realistic.
But the one that makes your heart skip. That sets your soul on fire.
If the universe handed you a blank check, a limitless reality, a magic wand—what would you create?
Because that’s the dream worth holding out for.
That’s the dream worth reaching beyond every previous “best” for.
You don’t have to settle.
You don’t have to stop at a relationship, an opportunity, a lifestyle, just because it’s the best you’ve had so far.
You are allowed to wish for more.
In fact, you are meant to.
Because every ceiling you break is just another floor waiting to be built upon.
So tell me—what’s the next dream?
In limitless sovereign,
Sharon
